Exologística is born in 1997. Originally thought as the logistics division of Exolgan Container Terminal, the company rapidly starts to grow and take a shape of it’s own. Its first activities are developed at the South Logistics Park (PLS), Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, where container and general cargo operations are coordinated by road as well as container stripping and stuffing services. Likewise, the first warehousing activities of the company take place at the Menghi warehouse, which is still operating today. From the beginning, Exologística handles multimodal logistics operations. |

Three years later, in 1999, the company opens the Zárate Logistics Park and in this way it increases its presence in the region. This base operates containers and isotanks with a reach stacker, as well as big bags and breakbulk cargo. In 2000 Exologística starts performing both warehousing and stock management operations in-house. |

Year 2001 entails Exologística’s considerable expansion of facilities and activities. Firstly, taking one of its most ambitious steps, the company inaugurates one of Argentina’s biggest logistics operations: the Ribera Sur Multimodal Terminal. Adjoining Exolgan’s Container Terminal, this port and railway terminal mainly operates containerized cargo, handled by train (Ferrosur Roca) and truck. The train enables an efficient and low cost linkage to Bahía Blanca’s petrochemical complex. Ribera Sur Multimodal Terminal operates a transfer station where products, either packed in bags or in bulk, are transferred into silos using screw conveyors. |

In order to face the challenge of further synergizing Exolgan and Exologística’s operations, during 2001 Exologística also invests in expanding PLS’ facilities. Therefore, at the same logistics park where it all began, world-class warehouses are constructed, complying with the highest standards. These new warehouses are equipped with different types of modern racks, double-deep storage racks, operated with double reach trucks, and narrow –aisle racks, operated with narrow-aisle reach trucks, state-of-the-art equipments in the local market. In this way, the company seeks to offer a wide variety of warehousing types, each one adapted according to different needs and products. Later on, the company starts operating a fiscal stamp and label office, thus rendering an important added-value service to its import customers.

By 2002 Exologística begins operations at the Itajaí Port, in Santa Catarina, Brazil. There it operates a distribution center, for both export and import flows, and a container yard, operated with reach stackers. In the same year, Exologística gradually starts merging with Román Logística, with the purpose of integrating the systems used by both companies and their operating and commercial departments.

By 2004 the definite integration with Román Logística is completed, becoming one single company by 2005. In doing so, multimodal, import and high-volume commodity operations, carried out by Exologística, merge with distribution and mass consumption flows. Moreover, integrated operations bring about additional container yard operations at customers’ plants, which results in an increase of in-house employees. From that moment onwards, the company is reorganized, directing its efforts and strategies towards three main divisions: petrochemical, industry and mass consumption. |
